Legend has it that in 1649, after dictating his memoirs to Daniel Defoe and growing weary of the after-dinner speaking circuit in England, Robinson Crusoe decided to head off on holiday. However, his navigational skills deserted him once again, and the trade winds left him stranded right here on the shores of Magaluf.
Taking in the beauty of the beach, Robinson spotted a fantastic business opportunity. Using the remains of his wooden boat, he built a hut to sell refreshing cold drinks and «lethal shots» to the tourists. The only snag was that he arrived 297 years before the first tourist actually turned up. After going bankrupt and ending up in Birmingham selling a then-unknown food called curry, his spirit remained on these sands, waiting for someone to take up the mantle.
The Rebirth (1998 – 1999)
That moment finally arrived centuries later. It all started back in 1998, fuelled by a bit of frustration and a whole lot of ambition. Two mates, Paul and Juan, decided they could do much better than their current jobs. After a rather eventful afternoon—which began with being turned away at one bar and ended with a serendipitous discovery at the place next door—the concept of Robinson Crusoe’s was born.
Following the original castaway’s principles of hospitality (but with much better timing), on the 27th of May 1999, they put their treasures together to present to you the venue you see today. What began as a dream to create «something different» on Magaluf beach quickly became a mission to build the ultimate home for sun, fun, and ice-cold drinks.
Growing with the Beach
Over the decades, we didn’t just stay put; we grew alongside the coastline we love:
-
2004: We expanded into the neighbouring premises.
-
2007: We opened Foxy’s, growing the family even further.
-
2014: We proudly became the freeholders of our beachfront home, solidifying our place as a true Magaluf institution.
Meet the Crusoe’s Gang
The secret to our longevity isn’t just the beer or the views—it’s the people. Our team is a vibrant, international family. From the long-serving legends who have been with us for donkey’s years to the fresh faces keeping the energy alive, the «Crusoe’s Gang» is the heartbeat of this place. We take our hospitality seriously, but we never take ourselves too seriously.
Whether you’re in for a pint at the top bar or a meal by the water, you’re not just a customer—you’re part of the history we’ve been writing (with significantly less drama than poor old Robinson) since 1998.
Come as you are, stay for the vibe.

We wanted a place where everyone was welcome, regardless of where they came from—a true sanctuary for both island residents and the thousands of travelers visiting Magaluf every year.
